On the way to the March Against Hate yesterday, my friend Brian and I realized we were starving balls. There was no particular reason we stopped at this McDonald's other than that it was on the way. And I was craving--simply craving--some McNuggets.

It took 20 minutes to finally get to the window. We spent that time bitching at everyone ahead of us to place their order already and move along. "It's not a complicated menu!" "You should already know what you want!" "Oh my God, what is wrong with you people?!"

And I love that once it was our turn, my friend said "Uhhh...Give me a sec." Hypocrite!

I leaned over and said in my best Mira Sorvino: "Do you have a businesswomen's special?
Employee: A what?
Me: You know, like a lunch....for businesswomen?
And right on cue Brian says:
"We're due in Tucson. You know, for a business thing."
Employee: Huh?
Me: Can we just get a No. 1 with a Diet Coke and a 10-piece nugget to go then?

OK, so we had our giggles and we were probably way more amused with that than we should have been.

The employee at the window didn't look a day over 13, and he promptly handed me a Happy Meal Diet Coke. I know I've been using a new anti-aging cream but does it look like I'm old enough to want a Happy Meal? He also couldn't seem to master the skill of putting Diet Coke in a cup. I think the machine was malfunctioning. His manager came over to help and she smiled politely.

We finally got our food and I devoured it in the car. I suppose Big Macs and McNuggets can sometimes only truly be appreciated during a massive hangover. I'm lovin' it.

Okay.  I know it's silly to review McDonald's.  I mean, it's McDonald's.  You feel how you feel about it. Period.  I know I won't change your mind.  But here I am anyway.  (Feeling a little like Breckin Meyer in Clueless, though.)

I stop in here for breakfast all the time.  At least once a week.  These guys always get my order right.  Always.  I always get my extra jelly.  When I ask for eight sugars in my coffee, no one laughs.  No one.  And they are unfailing polite and smiley.

It's a nice thing in the morning.  OJ, bottle of water, coffee or coke, and a sausage biscuit. It's a simple thing, but a nice thing.  These guys always make sure this "nice thing" stays nice.  Thanks, McDonald's.

It's McDonalds, I know, but this location still gives out those ridiculous ketchup packets. They refuse to switch to the much more convenient big dispensers. I won't go to this location because I don't want to bother opening ketchup packets. I can't believe that they think it saves them money in some way.

Beware, the john is like a walk-in freezer. Holy crap. I like cold, but I have to hope the ladies' isn't so polar; not a place to get one's ass out lightly.

Also, no playscape. Once saw a small boy here running in circles, crying disconsolately "where can I play? where can I play?" Thought for him "it's all downhill from here, man. McDonald's could've abated the pain of existence slightly, for a time, but chose not to."

Low-carb breakfast of 3 scrambled eggs, 2 sausage patties, and large iced black coffee: $8

This McD's does not taste as good as others.  The filet o fish was soggy, the Big Mac had almost no sauce on it and my husband pretty much banned eating here after getting the quarter pounder.

The fries are good, but the McD's in the WalMart is so much better.

So, this morning I am watching the Food Network and just as I sit down to dig into my yummy spinach and cheese omelet Tyler Florence starts cooking a Baked Potato Hash Brown that has my salivary glands turning cart-wills....

The only place I could think of that I could get Hash Browns with the Pup in tow was McDonald's drive through.  So, I let the pup finish my omelet and excitedly got ready to indulge in some Hash Browns!

I chose this location because it is 2 blocks from Lady Bird Lake, where I had plans for a morning run.

I pull up order and wait less than 5 minutes for the 3 cars in front of me before the 2 Hash Browns are in my hands along with 2 packets of salt and ketchup.

I drove a block away and parked in the Daughtry Arts Center parking lot and savored every bite of my Hash Browns while my pup whimpered and whined to begin the morning adventure or maybe she wanted a bite, I was no way sharing.

The Hash Browns at this location are purrfect! - hot and crunchy on the outside with a nice non-soggy texture on the inside (if you have ever had a hash brown where they did not wring out all the liquid you know what I am talking about).  I sprinkled  some salt on one and poured some ketchup on the other.  The Hash Browns were so perfectly cooked they really only needed a little salt....

I got home and logged onto http://www.mcdonalds.com to figure out how much damage I had done to my waist line and was pleasantly surprised - the Hash Browns only pack in 150 calories!  I know those 150 calories are not that healthy; but I can run them off in less than 30 minutes......

McDonald's Hash Brown welcome to my weekend morning indulgence list!

I went to this McDonald's to get a hot fudge sundae in hopes that it might numb the crushing loneliness that fills my every waking moment.

I was told that they were "out of ice cream".

It seems that even Ronald has turned his back on me now. I pulled up to the drive through a shattered being hoping for just the smallest bit of comfort and I left with additional evidence that there is nothing in this life that we can count on aside from constant pain and the eventual relief of death's warm embrace. I will not be returning to this location.

This place looks like the ghetto / retard show.   Could you not hire anyone at all in the place that looks half way normal?     Never never never never again will I go to McDonalds for their garbage.   This location is scary on weekend nights.

This McDonalds is a disaster. It is always nasty. There are always messes and spills on the floor. I even got FOOD POISONING from this location. Whenever I confronted the management about it they told me to get lost. From this experience I am never eating fast food again. If you do want to eat fast food and have any sense DON'T EAT AT THIS LOCATION unless you want to risk getting food poisoning.

McDonald's exactly what I expect.  Rude on the drivethru.  Ordered 1 thing and still screw my order up.  Person taking the money is talking to the person ordering not me.  Never said a word to me.  A the food pickup window the word spoke was "condiment," and away I go.  Mcdonalds always make me proud.

Well bust my buttons!  Jumping jelly beans I am being attacked!  Driving out last weekend I was attacked by the Big Mac Attack fever.  Big Mac Attack, Big Mac Attack!

It has been a long time since I went to a McDonalds; I drove up to the speaker box and ordered the Big Mac meal, yep I up sized and I added two extra patties on the big Mac!  Then I parked and ate it.

Well  16000 calories later the Mac Attack was over, yep I succumbed and ate it all.

As usual almost everyone has eaten at a McDonalds at some point in time if you never have, you are a great person.   So no change it is the same now as it was 5 years ago, except prices may be higher and they expanded their menu to a healthier type but all the old items are still there and the quality is the same.

I will admit I get the breakfast sausage biscuit ever now and then.

Hum, I see no kiddie's playground here, that's odd.  I stand corrected, a small inside playgroud is there.

Will I go back?  Yes next time I get a Big Mac Attack.

so on a Sunday morning I get 4 Big Breakfast deluxe but when I get home #1 I had no hasbrowns and no receipt. Their number was not listed so I got it from the location on Pecan. They were busy and when I explained to David the manager abou my missing both hashbrowns and receipt he just asked if I wanted to go by now or later. How about apologizing for their mistake and for your trouble here is a free coffee or apple pie?   Very bad service. At this same Mcdonalds in December there was a woman who appeared to be having a stroke and none of the workers or manager assisted this woman. Instead they looked at her as if she was crazy. Clearly this Mcdonnalds has no leadership and lacks training. It took for a customer to assist this woman and call 911.

Ummm, it's McDonald's. What do you expect? We tried to get their double-dipped cones like six times within a two-week period (we are fans of ice cream and was boycotting Chick-fil-A at the time) and every time their ice cream machine was broken.

But last week, my son and I went there and tried out their double-dipped cones. Meh. They were ok. DQ's is much better and you get more bang for your buck there.

I have a problem with this MickeyD's and their portion size. I also leave there feel gipped and swindled.

How in the heck can a McDonalds only get 1 star?  When it is at the corner of Four Points and RR620 / FM 620.  They never fail to screw up my drive through order, they put people who cannot speak English on the drive up window (poor Mexicans try but get impatient if you can't understand them through a tiny speaker).  Never give you napkins or ketchup if you don't ask.  Just plain ol' uncaring crappy food that usually tastes as if it were sitting the bin longer than it should.  NEVER tastes just made.

I am not a huge McDonald's fan to begin with - but I went to this location at the request of a child with a gift voucher for a free ice cream cone. I just don't like this location. I felt they were rude and took a long time in the drive through to refuse my order. Apparently they choose not to be a "participating location" for several McDonald's corporate childrens programs. There is too much competition out there for that attitude. I am not likely to ever spend a dime at this location - as I succesfully went to another local store who is family friendly and accepts the holiday gift certificates.

I'm not a frequent visitor to McDonald's but this one was underwhelming. My main complaint was cleanliness of the interior. The floor was dirty, the booster chairs were dirty, the drink station was shabby, and there were a number of crickets (dead and alive) inside and immediately outside the store. I saw a worker cleaning a napkin dispenser with a bucket of dirty-looking water. The food was not as good as I usually find at McDonald's, but maybe that's because I was trying the Southern Chicken sandwich for the first time, and it was terrible - almost as bad as the cafeteria food I experienced back in high school. On the plus side, the counter workers were extremely friendly and the order was  handled very quickly. They have a play area here for older children, and the kids out there seemed to be having a great time. Getting in and out of the parking lot was fairly easy because this shopping center has a dedicated traffic light to allow cars in and out from the busy Route 71.

I don't eat McDonalds often. I OD'd on it in China every morning trying to satisfy my craving for a Western style breakfast. But as I mentioned in my HEB review I found some HEB brand HFCS free ketchup today and wanted to try it on some fries.  Good stuff by the way. I'd encourage every ketchup eater to try it. No real difference in taste.

I also ordered a Bacon and Cheese Angus Burger. I had one of these two years ago in the San Diego test market. I was skeptical on trying it again, but I have to say it's a 100% improvement in taste. The ones tested were horrid. There was even a CNBC special on the head McDonald's chef where it was mentioned the Angus Burger was sent back for testing numerous times. I'm sure the disgusting taste is where Jack In the Box got the Anus Burger commercial idea!

Now just because it's a 100% improvement in taste, there's no way I would choose eating at McDonald's over P.Terry's. But it was acceptable for what it was albeit on the dry side. If I was in a hurry again or traveling, I'd probably just grab a McDouble to keep it cheap.

Normally i don't write reviews on big chains but this one is a bit difft., typically ill stop by some random mcdonalds and grab an iced coffee (coffee flavor) but have always found that not everyplace makes the same drink correctly.

So on this morning i go through the drive thru, get my order and proceed to find out if they had in fact made the drink right. They hadn't, so of course i do a uiee and return to the scene of the crime.

Im in line waiting for the counter girl to take my order since im next in line and the manger sees me and proceeds to take my order. I explain to him what is wrong and he wants to make this right.

He comes back and for the first time actually explains to me why it doesn't taste right.....creamer.....fucking creamer, this entire time I could have just put more cream/milk to offset the taste. Not only does he come back with a brand new drink but i actually ask to order another coffee and tells me its "on the house". Great guy and def. seemed to genuinely want to help out and be a part of the customer experience.

A++ and def. my fav. mcdonalds to visit.

I am notoriously guilty of getting the late night munchies. After a night of celebrating on sixth street, I wanted the best late night meal ever: a large order of fries and a strawberry shake with whip cream and a cherry.

Now, I know this is a chain, especially with McDonald's, and everything is made to a standard, but the standard here was a little off. Just as a reminder, I only ordered a milkshake and fries, and only 1/2 of my order was up to the magical McDonald's standard. The milkshake was a complete hit. The moment I put the straw into my mouth and gave a little suckle, it was bliss. My mind went to a new place. I wish I could say the same about the fries. After I pulled out box out of the bag and smelled the golden goodness I thought it was going to amazing. The first few fries had the perfect amount of salt and warmth, but I think that was it. The following were lacking salt, were undercooked, and were missing the greatest ingredient of all - the one that separates McDonald's from the rest - the love. There was no love with my fries. Not even a side of it.

We went for a fundraiser for my son's school.  It was a madhouse but the staff stayed so positive and friendly.

I think McDonalds food tastes the same no matter where you go.  I tried the mushroom swiss burger...nasty.  I should stick to salads.  Hard to mess them up.

Best in the city. Food is always the appropriate temperature. And the taste is classic McDonald's.

NOTHING good to say about this place. The place was sprinkled with people that looked like they were there for some place to sleep. I ordered 2 Frappe's well, I waited I know 15 minutes ... There were 2 people ahead of me, they got their orders pretty quickly (how long they had been there before I got there the Good Lord ONLY knows!) ... During the 15 min wait I had two people come up to me and try to con me out of money (which is very refreshing .... NOT!!) The people that worked there were NOT helpful at all, they were not friendly one bit! Never said thank you... have a good nite ... come back again ....nothing.... I should have turned around and left as soon as I saw the questionable mechanisms on the bathroom doors! Needless to say ... Do not go in this Mickey D's unless you CANNOT make it another 10 ft dying of hunger!

New Orleans, LA

Woah. Stepped into this McDonalds looking for breakfast and it was hands down one of the most unpleasant chain location I've ever entered. Broken seats were taped with "under construction" tape, the people hanging out there weren't even eating, and it almost felt unsafe at 10:00 in the morning. (And as a St. Louis city resident, I feel like I'm allowed to say that.) Must avoid unless you really want those hash browns. And don't get your hopes up, the one down the street's even worse. P.S.: The ATM was broken. (Why I tried to get money here, I don't really know.)

HAHA! You know, if I were rating on comedy, this McDonalds would be a 4 star but for customer service, it translates to 2 stars on Yelp! This McDonalds is conveniently located on Canal street adjacent to Bourbon St. That's probably all it has going for it. As I walk in the store, I already feel unsafe. The lady at the cash register takes my order and suddenly she just utters Powerade. I am like what are you talking about? She was just mumbling CO2, CO2.....then I had to ask her again.......what are you asking me? She said the carbonation was out and the people behind me even understood that. HAHA! It helps to speak in complete sentences. It helps comprehension. I ordered a Big Mac combo with no salt on the fries. Of course they forgot the no salt on the fries. OMG. The lady at the cash register told the fries lady, told you so. LOL. I felt like I walked into a dysfunctional family restaurant. Also, some one asked for no cheese on their burger but the guy making the sandwiches was raising hell to the cash register lady. I feel these employees are probably not communicating to each other. I bet the guy assembling the sandwiches probably did something to that person's sandwich. Let's just say I was entertained....but I was looking forward to a refreshing Coke. Instead I got a diluted Powerade that tastes like water.

Better coffee than Cafe DuMonde, and its only ONE DOLLAR for a 12 oz cup. I loved how the entrance is disguised from Royal Street, you need to enter through a "Secret Passageway" to get into this McD's. Breakfast is the only meal I can tolerate at McD's -- and this one has the "Steak McBagel" (currently not sold in California). I love the Steak McBagel.....its one of my guilty pleasures on the entire planet.....and my wife loves the Sausage Burritos. Cheap prices and a friendly staff makes this a must-visit place in the French Quarter when you need a refuge from Tourist Traps and shitty coffee.

You would think McD's would have a "standard" in all their restaurants. CLEARLY they do NOT here! Came in here for a quick breakfast because, hey, it's a McDonald's, right? They have fresh brewed, corporate-provided coffee, right? They have an Egg McMuffin that taste's the same here as the one in Miami, in Chicago, in Po'dunk, Iowa, RIGHT??? W R O N G ! ! ! If there was a one-QUARTER star to rate this place, I think THAT would be too high. The coffee was (diplomatically) one step up above POND SLUDGE! It was disgusting! The egg in the Egg McMuffin was so dry it was reverting back to it's POWDER form! And, cheese is NOT suppose to "snap" when you bite into it. I showed this to the lady at the counter and she said, "we make all these fresh every morning." Okay, WHICH morning two weeks ago did you make this one??? The orange juice was no better. If you took a tablespoon of Tang and put it in a QUART of water.....yeah, that would be close to it. I'm sorry. I don't mean to bash a place in one of my favorite cities on Earth but I just want to warn everybody what they can expect (unless, of course, "corporate" sees this and other reviews and does something about it). I'll never know because I'll never go back.

Saturday, February 16, 2013

New Orleans, LA

This place takes FOR-EV-ER. All I ordered was a small chocolate shake and it took like 15 min...and there was no one in front of me in line and 2 people still waiting on food. The main problem was the slow moving people behind the counter and all the people they decided to chat with in the middle of finishing an order.... When I ordered my shake however, I asked for extra chocolate. The cashier looked at me like I became an alien in just that moment. So I said, "LOOK, I'm not an alien; all I want is an actual chocolate shake-not a "chocolate" "shake"...they never have enough chocolate in the them" ... She pretty much said she has no control over it, but when I got my shake, it was actually a chocolate shake even though the ones that came out before mine were not. I win.

I have a favorite McDonald's (clearly I need to make some changes in my life...). Anyway, this is my preferred McDonald's because the value meal prices are on average 50 cents cheaper than the next nearest location and my chicken nuggets and french fries are always cooked to perfection. If you've ever had an overcooked nugget, you'll understand the importance of this. Finally, unlike a number of other locations, I can generally eat my lunch in peace without someone coming up to me and bothering me for one reason or another (like a toddler stealing my chicken nuggets or a man bowing to me and calling me the queen-- both true stories). Place smells a bit and could use a good wipe down. Ordering was quick. Fries were very yummy; more crisper than other McDs. It's close to where I had to work so it was very convenient to stroll here for lunch.

For a Valentines Day treat to me - I stopped by for a cheeseburger Happy Meal - that made for a happy me - I love McDonald's - not on the diet, but the the heck - it was just what I needed and made me think I should start treating my little girl to a happy meal maybe once a month

Boise, ID

Not bad at all. After enjoying a relaxing four days lakeside albeit frozen and a couple days of solid skiing the four of us sat around a table enjoying our Sausage Egg McMuffins one early Valentine's Day morning. It hit the spot. The cheese was actually melted all the way through on our little sausage treats which is rare in my past experiences and the lady behind the counter offered us an unusual upgrade, one that I had not heard before. She asked if we wanted to upgrade to 2 hash browns. We were tempted, well I was.

Fairfax, VA

I was initially unsure on how to rate this McDonald's. First, I thought the service was very good. I used a coupon that I got in the mail for a $1.00 Filet-O-Fish and I used a Valentine's Day certificate for a free small ice cream cone. The manager did not even bat an eye when I used them together. I thought that was great. She got my food incredibly fast. On the other hand, while I was waiting for my food, another customer came up to the counter and complained about his food. He showed the manager that one of his McNuggets was raw. I saw it, and it was definitely pink in the middle. He was very upset and asked for his money back. The manager was apologetic, but I think they could have been more apologetic. They gave his money back to him, and he left. I felt they should have done more because that mistake is a very big deal. So I give this place 2 stars. Raw fast food is a big deal!

State College, PA

A couple observations about this McDonald's: - they never offer any of the nationwide promotions (e.g. free glasses) and they never accept coupons. - the staff is generally unfriendly and frustrated (and I'm not talking about the late night shift people). I saw a manager toss a boxed big mac to an employee, arguably because he was bored. Not that they should matter too much when choosing to go to a McDonald's, but anyways. Tip: they have a whitetable cloth valentine's day dinner that I've been meaning to try :)

Sunnyvale, CA

I gave this McDonalds an extra star because they put some extra effort in that I don't see at other McD's. They have Chinese New Years decorations and Valentine's Day decorations. They were cute! They also have free wifi which was good because me and the husband had to kill some time. They also had a couple of comfy i guess i'd call them living room chairs with a shorter table that we ate at. It made us feel a little more comfortable than the plastic chairs or booths. I'll come here when I'm in the area.

New York, NY

McDonald's? 4 stars? I know.....I wouldn't normally review a fast-food chain BUT it is a guilty pleasure of mine and this McDonald's is like none other. Seriously. I missed the talking trash can that the first Yelper mentioned (will definitely have to go back for that) but this is seriously the nicest McDonald's I've ever seen. I went there on Valentine's Day for a McFlurry (because that's how my classy friends and I roll) and was amazed with the decor. It kind of reminded me of my college cafeteria (in a good way) with cozy booths and semi funky furniture. The place was super clean and a lot bigger than it looks when you walk in. To top it off their prices are a little lower than some other McDonald's in Manhattan (I'm kind of embarrassed that I even know that). If you're in the area I'd definitely recommend checking it out.

Gorman, CA

As a mountain resident, I go here quite a bit when I want some comfort food like a fish sandwich or a Big Breakfast or when I just want to look at some folks who don't look pasty white like me and the rest of the people who live in the Tejon Pass. It is clean and convenient. I watched President Obama's State of the Union Speech here because I don't have my own TV.

New Orleans, LA

Welcome to WalDonald's. We found them to be very generous with the special sauce, and the plastic sack was super absorbent. There may have been a fingernail in the fries. After licking our paws clean, we wanted to do it all over again.

New Orleans, LA

This is possibly the very first Bi-Polar restaurant that I have ever visited. Depending on the shift and/or day of the week you will find it to be either the friendliest McDs or possibly the rudest you have ever visited. I'm absolutely positive that the manager is Two Face who flips a coin to decide on what kind of customer service you will receive that day. This restaurant is always very clean, which is not the norm for this area. This place is on the way to work. I usually get a large coffee ($1.40) on weekdays and sometimes sausage burritos on the weekend. Reasons to go: 1) Convenience. Sadly, it's the best fast food place with a drive-thru anywhere near my hotel. It is also next to a gas station. 2) Chain food consistency. There's a solid chance (67%) by my experience that you will get standard Mickey D's food; nothing better, nothing worse. Reasons to avoid: 1) Staff. Most of the weekday morning staff is respectful, some even border on friendly. It seems every shift outside of this is full of people who appear to have a jaded and apathetic disposition. 2) Cleanliness. It's Avondale and not very clean although compared to the Wendy's across the road, it is the pinnacle of hygiene. 3) Food. One time my burritos were cold :( those things are not meant to be consumed cold.

i would never go into a mcdonalds...except that at 9pm i was walking by and really wanted some soft serve (and a small fry). once i got over the diaper smell in there, i had an amusing time. i asked if they only had vanilla soft serve. mcdonalds staff stared at me. okay, do you have chocolate ice cream? no. do you have vanilla? yes. okay can i have a vanilla soft serve cone. what? you know, soft serve (pointing) oh a cone. yah. that'll be $1.. wait, and a small fry (and whatever he's getting). also do you have sprinkles? we got dem (points to m&m's) and oreos mashed up. oh, so no sprinkles? can you put the m&m's on the cone? i not gonna try. wait, why'd you tell me then?.... huh? okay just a plain vanilla softserve then. a what? a vanilla cone. oh. jeez. was seriously difficult to order one cone here. but, i was laughing most of the time, so i got a little chuckle with my vanilla soft serve. still unsure as to why it smelled diapers. there was a very large fan blowing on the floor- not sure about that either.

Very friendly staff and out of the ordinary when it comes to Mc Donald's. The European cafe atmosphere was a nice change from your typical Mickie D's. Had the eggs benedict on panni bread with a hash brown on the side for less then $5.00. It was excellent. There is an elevator to the second floor with a gameroom. Definately will go back when in Orlando.

I love my McDonald's Coke!!! I don't know what they put into it, but I'm convinced that their fountain Coke is better than anywhere else. The workers here get you in and out fast, you can't ask for much more from a McDonald's!!

Worst McDonald's I have ever visited. Consistently they get my order wrong even thou I order the same thing 4 times a week in the morning. Today I ordered and the cashier took my money. She then took a personal phone call and walked to the back , leaving me standing at the register. When I did get served my coffee had artificial creamer not the 4 sugars I ordered. I threw away the coffee as I could not even drink it. Will check out the Wendy's across the street from now on.

The cheese burgers are good. The quarter lbs burgers are okay! They taste different kinda chewy? Drive a couple miles down the road to the McDonald's on argyle, the burgers taste so much better! I avoid this McDonald's after having the cheddar Swiss burger from both locations. Each time I think it will be different this time and taste just as good as the one on argyle, never! After three attempts no more. Not going to lie, I like a double cheeseburger every now and then. I do end up immediately having buyers remorse soon as i am done eating. My son like most kids like this place. This location is an "extra fancy" location with granite counter tops, flat panel TVs, a kids room with their own flat panel, wifi and well decorated. The staff is very friendly, but ultimately it is still a McDonalds. I am giving it 2 stars instead of one due to the well decorated interior.
