Austin, TX

On the way to the March Against Hate yesterday, my friend Brian and I realized we were starving balls. There was no particular reason we stopped at this McDonald's other than that it was on the way. And I was craving--simply craving--some McNuggets.

It took 20 minutes to finally get to the window. We spent that time bitching at everyone ahead of us to place their order already and move along. "It's not a complicated menu!" "You should already know what you want!" "Oh my God, what is wrong with you people?!"

And I love that once it was our turn, my friend said "Uhhh...Give me a sec." Hypocrite!

I leaned over and said in my best Mira Sorvino: "Do you have a businesswomen's special?
Employee: A what?
Me: You know, like a lunch....for businesswomen?
And right on cue Brian says:
"We're due in Tucson. You know, for a business thing."
Employee: Huh?
Me: Can we just get a No. 1 with a Diet Coke and a 10-piece nugget to go then?

OK, so we had our giggles and we were probably way more amused with that than we should have been.

The employee at the window didn't look a day over 13, and he promptly handed me a Happy Meal Diet Coke. I know I've been using a new anti-aging cream but does it look like I'm old enough to want a Happy Meal? He also couldn't seem to master the skill of putting Diet Coke in a cup. I think the machine was malfunctioning. His manager came over to help and she smiled politely.

We finally got our food and I devoured it in the car. I suppose Big Macs and McNuggets can sometimes only truly be appreciated during a massive hangover. I'm lovin' it.

Austin, TX

This McD's does not taste as good as others.  The filet o fish was soggy, the Big Mac had almost no sauce on it and my husband pretty much banned eating here after getting the quarter pounder.

The fries are good, but the McD's in the WalMart is so much better.

Round Rock, TX

Well bust my buttons!  Jumping jelly beans I am being attacked!  Driving out last weekend I was attacked by the Big Mac Attack fever.  Big Mac Attack, Big Mac Attack!

It has been a long time since I went to a McDonalds; I drove up to the speaker box and ordered the Big Mac meal, yep I up sized and I added two extra patties on the big Mac!  Then I parked and ate it.

Well  16000 calories later the Mac Attack was over, yep I succumbed and ate it all.

As usual almost everyone has eaten at a McDonalds at some point in time if you never have, you are a great person.   So no change it is the same now as it was 5 years ago, except prices may be higher and they expanded their menu to a healthier type but all the old items are still there and the quality is the same.

I will admit I get the breakfast sausage biscuit ever now and then.

Hum, I see no kiddie's playground here, that's odd.  I stand corrected, a small inside playgroud is there.

Will I go back?  Yes next time I get a Big Mac Attack.

New Orleans, LA

HAHA! You know, if I were rating on comedy, this McDonalds would be a 4 star but for customer service, it translates to 2 stars on Yelp! This McDonalds is conveniently located on Canal street adjacent to Bourbon St. That's probably all it has going for it. As I walk in the store, I already feel unsafe. The lady at the cash register takes my order and suddenly she just utters Powerade. I am like what are you talking about? She was just mumbling CO2, CO2.....then I had to ask her again.......what are you asking me? She said the carbonation was out and the people behind me even understood that. HAHA! It helps to speak in complete sentences. It helps comprehension. I ordered a Big Mac combo with no salt on the fries. Of course they forgot the no salt on the fries. OMG. The lady at the cash register told the fries lady, told you so. LOL. I felt like I walked into a dysfunctional family restaurant. Also, some one asked for no cheese on their burger but the guy making the sandwiches was raising hell to the cash register lady. I feel these employees are probably not communicating to each other. I bet the guy assembling the sandwiches probably did something to that person's sandwich. Let's just say I was entertained....but I was looking forward to a refreshing Coke. Instead I got a diluted Powerade that tastes like water.

A couple observations about this McDonald's: - they never offer any of the nationwide promotions (e.g. free glasses) and they never accept coupons. - the staff is generally unfriendly and frustrated (and I'm not talking about the late night shift people). I saw a manager toss a boxed big mac to an employee, arguably because he was bored. Not that they should matter too much when choosing to go to a McDonald's, but anyways. Tip: they have a whitetable cloth valentine's day dinner that I've been meaning to try :)

Expensive and crowded...but when that Big Mac attack happens there is no where else to go...and you did the job!

I saw one of the employee picked his nose.... while making a Big Mac. What has been seen can't be unseen. T_T

Falls Church, VA

Just had breakfast here right after a routine Home Depot trip... pleasantly surprised! Okay, most fastfood places serve the same food anywhere you go (be it DC or Atlanta or LA--a Big Mac is a Big Mac). This place however had ambiance! They re-furbished one side of the in-door restaurant to look more like a 'cafe', complete with leather couches and cozy booths. They also had bar-like tables and chairs in the middle of the room. Also noted a nice, well-maintained outdoor seating (crappy view of the car wash though... other than that, pretty clean). Only thing missing is a fireplace!! So... the next time you to wolf down a McGriddle, have it in a lounge-like atmosphere! (Are they all headed to this type of concept? I wonder...)

Hoboken, NJ

Its McDonald's so you should know what to expect food wise...high quality dog food cooked to order. What you get at this particular location that you might not get everywhere else (although there's plenty of locations where you will) is the bonus of a likely assault with your meal. One of my friends got jumped by Teak bouncers here because he happened to be sitting next to someone they thought disrespected them. I always see cops in there and I feel like I read about some kind of crime happening on a weekly basis. I just realized, why I am writing a review for a McDonalds? Who thinks, I'm in the mood for a Big Mac, wait let me see what the reviews say first. Oh well, nothing better to do at work right now anyway.

Kahului, HI

11/24/2011-Went to McDonald's since many restaurants were closed for the Thanksgiving holiday. These guys were open 'til 7pm that evening. Ordered a Big Mac and fries at the Drive-Thru. Made the mistake of ordering the large size. The fries were HUGE. Also, they didn't give us any ketchup for our fries. Was bummed about that. Overall, a typical McD's.

New York, NY

This McDonald's is known as the "fancy McDonalds" because they have piano player, a doorman, granite table tops, and table service. When I walked through the door my monocle fell out of my eye. I thought "ohh my word, this place is even too fancy for me!" Unfortunately, I was woefully under dressed, but they luckily had a tuxedo for me to borrow. As I proceeded up the gracious stair case I admired the imported granite tables, I was impressed to hear piano player playing the moonlight sonata and shit. We were seated quickly in the "orchid room". This room was so fancy it made the Palace of Versailles look like a mere Buckingham Palace. We choose the prix fixe menu consisting of four courses. The first course consisted of a breaded and fried chicken cutlets with a crisp batter. This was paired with a fine vintage Sprite. The second course consisted of frites presented artfully in red cardboard tube with a thick tomato like sauce. The main entree was an enormous sandwich consisting of two patties, pickles, lettuce, and a three layer bun. The "special sauce" included in this sandwich danced over my palate like a ballet. The somellier was helpful throughout this meal. He recommended Coca Cola to complement the complex flavors of our entree. The final course was a desert pastry. It was a crisp and cinnamon apple flavour pastry not unlike those found in the finest bakeries of Paris. Over all this restaurant was the definition of dining excellence, and sophistication. The above is pure fiction. This in all actuality is McDonalds that looks fancy. Its just a McDonalds with the same lousy food you can get anywhere else.

Kahului, HI

How awesome is this? I'm the first person to review the McDonald's in Kahului, Maui. My family moved to Maui in 1968 and I remember hamburgers being 25 cents when Maui basically had two fast food restaurants on the whole island . . . McDonalds and Kentucky Fried Chicken. Thank you McDonald's for all those years of happiness . . . from seeing me transition from hamburgers to cheeseburgers and even growing up to big kid level with my first Big Mac. You saved my undeveloped tastebuds from poi and squid and prevented that little white kid from starving to death. Here's to you McDonald's -- I raise my glass to you old friend. Aloha to you and a big hang loose to the hamburglar and grimace

Eleele, HI

I ordered a Big Mac and a medium fries to go. Opened up my Big Mac and there were no burger patties on it! Seriously? The damn patties were crammed into the french fries. I'm all for equal-opportunity hiring, but if this is the best 'Ele'ele can come up with ...

Okay, true confession time: Every now and then, I crave, and I mean REALLY CRAVE, Micky-D's food. Whether it's the Big Mac or the quarter pounder with cheese, and those fries, the urge hits, and nothing but the golden arches will satisfy. It's junk food junkie crack! Let me set the scene. Hubby and are driving around and trying to figure out if we should pick up a bento box to take back for dinner, make reservations somewhere, or drop at the JW KoOlina bar. He's thinking nothing is amiss, and we will come to a reasonable decision. All of a sudden, as if a full moon is rising, I turn into that MacD-banshee. "Honey, we gotta find a McDonalds NOW!" And I do mean, NOW. Nothing will satisfy this primal need for grease - not malasada, not manapua, no shave ice, no garlic chicken, no macaroni salad...I MUST HAVE McDonalds. Now, Murphy's law kicks in. How many golden arches have we seen during our drives on the island, and now, we can't seem to find a single one. It's as if they were sucked up into the earth. Definitely feeling like bad karma setting in...and we didn't take any lava rocks or walk through a sacred heia. Finally, after driving to the end of the strip, we find the arches. Now, parking...This banshee is desperate, and has Hubby drop her off and tells him to park and come back. This McDonald's is pretty ordinary, and they have all the usual stuff plus SAIMIN! Okay, the visions of burgers drift away, and I am pretty sure I want the McSaimin! Hubby comes in, and rolling his eyes, orders his usual Big Mac combo, but I go for the saimin. You know what: It's pretty darn good. I am sated, and the banshee goes back into remission (sorta like the werewolf transforming back to human form). Now, the only problem with this is: what happens when we return to the states, and not only do I have the craving hit, but it is for McSaimin? I'm doomed!

Daytona Beach, FL

This location is absolutely hit and miss. One week its great and the next time its awful... So, I am changing my review to.. Eek! Methinks not. I'm a frequent late night eater so... at 1 a.m. when no one else is in the drive-thru at my local McDonald's I figured that I would have a great experience.

My Big-Mac meal was entirely shy of being BIG. I had one slice of hamburger on my sandwich. Which couldn't even be considered a piece of meat. On top of that my sandwich was bogged down with the secret sauce- it was a complete mess. The middle bun was soggy from the excessive amounts of sauce..

My large order of fries couldn't even be considered that. It was filled only half way which is a shame...

Furthermore- service was okay (thestaff was nice..), wait time was long (10+ minutes), and the food quality was subpar (1 out of 10..for the wait time).. I know I can't expect a lot since its fast food but for the most part it would be nice if it would've been done right.

Stay away.

As one meanders down Shattuck, leaving the melodious screech of that tone-deaf Asian grandpa violinist plopped in front of the Downtown BART, he/she will encounter the wondrous and familiar smell of cooking fry grease and meat patties fulminating to perfection under fluorescent lighting.

This is where the fantasy ends as the aroma of McDonald's fare fails to mask the stench of urine, cigarettes, and whiskey emanating from the many homeless that make this establishment their dining room, restroom, and even shower. If you enjoy listening to a crazed bearded hobo debating to himself the follies of letting unicorns draft the new health care bill or the imminent invasion of the U.S. by soulless Chinese robots powered by youTube- then by all means sit right down in the hard, uncomfortable booths where a runaway street urchin has probably made love on with his dog.

In terms of food, it is sub-par, even for McDonald's. Something is just completely off about the Big Mac. Everything is bloody soggy including the fries...and don't get me started on the lie that is the crispy chicken sandwich. I really don't understand how this occurs, but I suspect it is due to the staff having lost some of their functionary motor skills when their souls were sucked from their orifices. This tends to happen whilst working with patrons that are constantly trying to pay in bird seed, bubble gum, and empty aluminum cans.

TL;DR
Overall, 2 stars because man I still frickin love Mickey D's, but unless you want to vicariously experience rock-bottom destitution via the regulars here, stay clear.
